STAYCEE PEARL dance project (PAS|SPdp) exists to interpret and mirror the human condition through dance and dance centered multi-media experiences. With diverse casting and programing, PAS|SPdp explores innovative conceptual possibilities while participating in meaningful collaboration with artists, educators, musicians, choreographers, and activists. PAS|SPdp that produces innovative dance performances, layered visual and sonic artistic presentation, and programming around compelling concepts and themes relevant to current social/political issues. PAS|SPdp often illuminates and interprets the works of celebrated legendary and contemporary artists of the African Diaspora. Examples of such projects include OCTAVIA, which explores the life and work of famed African American Science Fiction novelist, Octavia Butler, and our 2012/2019 season project...on being... which focuses on the topic of Post-Blackness, brought to the forefront of our national conversation by curators, journalists, and bloggers.
